Sessions are live, one full day each weekend, for six weeks. That's 48 hours with me in total, and you don't need to take time off work.
Never more than four people. That's small enough for me to look at everyone's code and answer everyone's questions.
We run the project the way real teams do, with Jira tickets, Git branches, pull requests, and CI running your tests every time you push code.
Between sessions you'll have focused practice that moves you forward, not busy work. I review your code every week, and whenever you ask, and help you improve it. And if you need extra help, I'll set up a separate one-on-one session with you, so you stay on top of things.
If you miss a session, you can watch the recording and catch up. Missing one doesn't mean falling behind.
When the six weeks finish, I'm still around. Your next career move, a tricky bug, or anything else, you can come back to me.
These are things you'll actually do in the sessions, not just hear about. By the end, they'll all be in a portfolio you built yourself.
Playwright, Selenium, Python
Build full regression suites for web applications, starting from an empty folder, and understand every line you write.
Postman
Test APIs directly, checking requests, responses and the data behind them, without clicking through screens.
SQL
Write SQL queries, test ETL jobs, and handle test data safely, using C1–C4 data classification and made-up test data instead of real customer records.
Git, CI/CD, Docker
Set your tests to run every time the code changes, with results ready to share. You'll also learn the basics of Azure and Kubernetes.
axe-core
Catch visual changes with screenshot comparisons, and accessibility problems that are easy to miss when you test by hand.
Copilot and other AI tools
Use AI to help write and maintain your tests, and know enough to spot when it gets something wrong.
Along the way, you'll work hands-on with Python, Playwright, Selenium, Postman, SQL, axe-core, CI/CD, Git, Docker and more, plus the basics of Azure and Kubernetes.
Everything around us exists to solve a problem. A tool, a technique, an idea. So if you want to really understand something, start with the problem it solves. Then look at how it solves it. Then learn its main parts. In that order.
It sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised how often we skip it. Most of us jump straight into the commands and try to remember them, and that's exactly why it doesn't stick. And once you start looking at things this way, you'll notice that the better a solution fits its problem, the more natural it feels, and the longer it lasts.
I call it P.S.P.™: Pain point, Solution, Parts. And there's one rule that goes with it, an idea often linked to the physicist Richard Feynman: if you can't explain something simply, you don't really understand it yet. So for every tool, you should be able to explain all three in words a Year 6 student would follow. That's the level I'll help you reach.
What's the problem?
What was hard, slow or annoying before this existed? Always start here. Once you understand the problem, the rest starts to make sense.
How does it fix it?
What's the simple idea behind the fix? You should be able to say it in a sentence or two, without any jargon.
What are the moving parts?
What are the few pieces that make the solution work, and how do they fit together? There are usually only a handful.
